If you are a fisherperson or you just like to watch the fish jump or the fish eating birds, now is the time to get out on the lakes in Belfair and Grapeview. Yesterday the lakes were stocked with fish and already we are seeing the osprey and eagles. Funny how these guys know where the fish are before the fishermen do. But it appears to be true. Their eagle eyes have already noticed that last years larger fish that remained after the fishing season are scaring the new smaller fish into jumping clear of the water in their efforts to keep from being eaten in their first day in the new lakes.
Also of interest this week is that even though we are supposedly in spring, we have winter storm warnings being issued by the press. They are predicting 3-7 inches of snow tonight. Totally unheard of in an area that usually doesn’t get snow past January!
